At Miami:
2000(Senior)
Played in ten games, starting vs. McNeese State and Syracuse when Miami opened with a three-receiver formation...Finished with 11 catches for 151 yards (13.7 avg) and a touchdown...Also made a solo tackle and recovered a fumble on the special teams coverage unit. Preseason...Missed most of preseason drills after undergoing shoulder surgery (AC joint). McNeese State...Opened the season with a 24-yard reception and a timely block upfield to clear the way for 23-yard catch-&-run touchdown reception by Miami receiver Daryl Jones. Rutgers...Scored on a nine-yard catch. Washington...Had a pair of catches for nine yards. Florida State...added a 14-yard catch and a fumble recovery. Temple...Did not play (shoulder). Louisiana Tech...Recorded a solo tackle. Syracuse...Had a season-long 36-yard reception. Boston College...Caught a pair of passes for 30 yards. Florida (Sugar Bowl)...Closed out his career with 19 yards on two catches... awarded the Dale Melching Award for his outstanding leadership.

1999(Junior) Academic All-Big East Conference selection... Led the team in kickoff returns with (9) and return yardage (154)…fourth on the team in receptions (20) and receiving yards (220)…was the starting kick returner for nine games…had his best game of the season at Florida State, when he pulled in five passes for 78 yards…recorded three receptions for 19 yards versus Boston College in the greatest comeback in UM school history…pulled in four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown at Virginia Tech and recording a tackle on special teams…Had multiple receptions at Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Temple…tallied catches against Penn State and West Virginia…capped of the '99 campaign with four receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown vs. Georgia Tech in the Gator Bowl victory.

1998(sophomore) Third on the team in receptions(28) and receiving yards (397)..Was the only hurricane to record a catch in every game …answered the challenge of replacing hurt teammate Reggie Wayne with a combined 11 catches for 178 yards in two games as a starter. Posted career day in the big win versus UCLA, tallying career-best numbers for receptions (8) and receiving yards (124)… Caught his first collegiate touchdown pass in Rutgers game by connecting with Kenny Kelly on a 30-yard scoring strike to close out the scoring against the Scarlet Knights…was also a valuable member on special teams… awarded the Dale Melching Award for his outstanding leadership.

1997(freshman) Earned his first varsity letter seeing action in eight games…had five receptions for 66 yards. Registering first career catch on a 16 yard pass from Ryan Clement in the first quarter at Boston College…added a season long 22 yard grab on the same drive to set up an eight yard Edgerrin James touchdown run…four of his five receptions were for first downs…named most improved freshman following off-season summer conditioning program…missed the regular season finally vs. Syracuse to get married to Jessica Vogel…wedding had been planned long before attending the UM program.


CARREAR NOTES Originally signed with the University of Michigan in 1993, but was then selected in the second round by the Atlanta Braves baseball organization...Played at four different levels in the minor league system for Atlanta, Cincinnati and Tampa Bay before quitting the game to return to football.
HIGH SCHOOL Attended Stranahan High in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl…All-County and All-State performer at receiver…caught 25 passes for 700 yards and four touchdowns as a senior…also lettered in baseball, batted .492 with seven home runs and 30 stolen bases his senior season…was coached by Rick Perry in football and Greg Grimmett in baseball.
